Birchall brothers eyeing records as 2018 TT season kicks off

2017 FIM World Sidecar Champions Ben and Tom Birchall are aiming to beat the record they set last year at the Isle of Man TT Races, just one of many targets for the new season.

The brothers from Mansfield took a little time off over winter after a successful 2017 season, and are now aiming to defend their world title and their Isle of Man TT victories this year. Now, the pair are back in training and preparing their outfits for the 2018 season.

Ben and Tom travelled to Spain with their team in February, and after making improvements to their ignition and engine systems, the brothers are in a confident mood ahead of the World Championship in Le Mans, France on April 20-21.

The pair are hoping that the improvements made can help them in their quest to beat their outright sidecar lap record of 19 minutes and 19.746 seconds – 117.119 mph.
