2016 Mugen Shinden electric TT racer gets power boost to 161bhp.
We showed you pictures of the new Mugen Shinden Go electric racebike being put through its on-track paces last week ahead of an official reveal at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show and the bike’s details have now been released by the company.
Mugen has shed light on the new swingarm design saying that the suspension is a cross-link rocker which has been especially built for the bike.
Aside from the obviously more narrow overall design and the rear swingarm, the biggest other difference are based around the gut of the machine with a 10kW increase to the power to boost the electric racer up to 161bhp. Weight has stayed the same at 250kg but interestingly the bike’s peak torque is actually down compared to last year’s TT-winning bike, coming in at 154lb-ft, that’s 8lb-ft lower than the 2015 model.
